One of the reasons that Biggelaar Special performance is renowned within the Ducati world is the tuning.
A process in which Jan van den Biggelaar is specialised for more
then forty years. What is tuning? Literally translated tuning means fine adjustment, also the word `flowen` or " blue printing" is frequently used. It is in fact a combination of several factors that revalue the performance level of your Ducati. We will reveal here some secrets for you.
Something you can see for yourself in our shop. Furthermore the in and exhaust parts are perfectly connected on the head. The combustion chamber is adapted and remodelled, the compression is raised, The camshafts are set correctly and the mixture is adapted, or by changing the carburettor settings, or at the injection models, adapting by means of another eprom and or computer manipulation or even full free programmable motormangements systems. All this can be pushed a step further if requested by the use of other cams (race), higher compression pistons, larger valves (if this has any use for the engine). For the stock tuning we ensure that reliability will maintain, as for bringing a engine close or over its limits we can not ensure the same lifetime as a stock tuning . The further you go the higher the maintenance interval of the engine, we know this from our own experience with these kind of engine’s and race history Then everything is assembled with extremely exact valve adjustment also based on our own experience from over 40 years all this makes your bike performing better then before and giving more value for its money, and of course much more fun .. The result: Your Ducati will perform better in every part of the RPM range will produce more horsepower in top rpm. A dynorun is made before and after tuning (if possible) so you will always have a good idea what has happened to your bike and how it was running before. But is still most noticeable if you will drive. More power is available at a lower rpm this gives also a longer lifespan for the engine because of the lower piston speed needed to give the bike the same HP output as before also internal wear will be less . Are we allowed to do this? for the many years' of experience we think that we are obliged. A small warning.
We can exclude any risk due our many years' of experience with this
matter, that’s the reason that we guarantee on the capacities profit
off the provided work and the reliability. BE AWARE !!!!!! Do not believe everything that is shown and presented to you. Some corrections that are used by several "big" brand dynometers are completely made up and not reliable things like wheel slip and correction to crankshaft or sometimes fictive and way to high a good Dynometer will have a 2 tot 3 % wheel slip ( we can measure it) and a correction to crankshaft should be around 12 % (tested this on over 50 bikes) what we see in, sadly enough, a lot of dynocharts are wheel slip percentages of 5 tot 7 % or higher and corrections to crankshaft up to 17 % or over. Our dynometer is build by TTE/Dynostar and a Dynostar is build out of the best things all other dynometers have to offer, it is a easy tool to work with and is very accured the results are accrued, and come close to what most bikes should have according to factory specification (specially Ducati is very accrued). We have had lots of examples of bikes that, according to other dynometers, should produce more power then full world superbike racers, Ducati`s and other brands.
One examples was a kawasaki ZX10R that produced over 200 bhp on a
other dyno with just powercommander and other exhaust on our dyno
153 on the wheel. We measure the power to the rear wheel without application of the corrections(except for the atmosphere conditions) as well before as after the tuning so that the real HP is presented.
If wished you can get an dynograph with recalculating to
crack-shaft BHP that approaches the reality as closely as possible.
For the interested people, we perform constantly tuning and have a very big database of all types of Ducati and all forms of tuning which is accessible for everyone. Just look at the Dynocharts that we present on our website with all possible Ducati models and loads of different states of tuning all charts are completed with a small description of what is done to the bike, most bike that have exhaust behind it had it before and after tuning if there is a remark like camshafts, then its is done including the tuning .Another example of our “see by yourself when your at our shop” mentality
